SHCHERBATYKH ANDREY VIKTOROVICH

Born on October 6, 1958 in Angarsk, Irkutsk Region. In 1975, after graduating from high school, he entered and studied for one year at the Faculty of "Automation of Chemical Processes" at the Irkutsk Polytechnic Institute.

In the summer of 1976, after the session, he took his documents and entered the Irkutsk Medical Institute, graduating in 1982 with a degree in "General Medicine".

During his studies at the institute, he was actively involved in the general and operative surgery and topographic anatomy circle for four years. In 1980, in collaboration with students V. Zelenin and O. Korolev, he won 1st place in the scientific paper competition at the annual university student scientific conference. After receiving his diploma and completing an internship in surgery, he worked for 4 years as a surgical resident at MSO-28 in Angarsk.

In 1987-1990 studied full-time at the postgraduate program at the Department of Faculty Surgery of the Irkutsk State Medical University, after which he defended his candidate's dissertation on the topic of "Reflux Gastritis in Chronic Duodenal Obstruction".

From April 1, 1990 until his election as the head of the Department of Faculty Surgery of the Irkutsk State Medical University (2001), he worked at this department as an assistant.

On May 19, 2000, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic of "Functional Disorders of the Duodenum in Patients with Pathology of the Hepatogastroduodenal Zone".

On February 1, 2004, by order of the Chief Physician of the Faculty Clinics of the Irkutsk State Medical University, he was appointed to the position of Director of the Surgical Clinic.

On October 21, 2004, at the Academic Council of the Irkutsk State Medical University, he was elected to the rank of professor, and on December 15 of the same year, he was approved in this rank by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.

Surgeon of the highest qualification category, member of the Association of Surgeons of the Irkutsk Region, deputy editor-in-chief of the Siberian Medical Journal.

Since 2006 - Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Irkutsk State Medical University.

Professor A.V. Shcherbatykh is the author and co-author of more than 400 scientific and educational-methodical works, including 7 monographs and 5 teaching aids approved by the UMO, 2 author's certificates and 13 patents for inventions of the Russian Federation.

He was awarded the Gratitude (2018) and the Certificate of Honor (2019) of the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, the Certificate of Honor of the Governor of the Irkutsk Region (2009), the Gratitude of the Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation S.Yu. Tena, Silver Honorary Badge of the Republic of Buryatia (2014), Honorary Certificate of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) (2009), Commemorative Medal "In Memory of the 350th Anniversary of Irkutsk". Veteran of Labor (2018).

Honored Health Worker of Mongolia.

Under his editorship, a textbook for doctors "The Main Aspects of Infusion-Transfusion Therapy at the Current Stage", a textbook for students "Clinical Lectures on Faculty Surgery with Standards of Treatment and Diagnostic Care in Acute Surgical Pathology - Part 1" and "Clinical Lectures on Surgery - Part 2", "Clinical Lectures on Oncology", etc. were published. He is the supervisor of 6 candidate dissertations.
