Yuri Nikolaevich Bykov - Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Member of the Board of the All-Russian Society of Neurologists, World Federation of Neurology, Association of Neurologists of the Irkutsk Region, Full Member of the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN), Neurologist of the highest category.

Yuri Nikolaevich Bykov graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Irkutsk State Medical Institute in 1994, where he carried out all his subsequent work activities. Medical specialty - neurologist. Has additional economic, pedagogical and managerial education, graduate of the Skolkovo school.

Head of the Department of Nervous Diseases of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education Irkutsk State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation since 2011.

Area of clinical and scientific interests: vascular diseases of the nervous system; development of personalized methods of early diagnosis and differentiated treatment in neurology, pain syndromes, cognitive impairment, neurodegenerative diseases.

His own scientific developments are devoted to the study of vascular diseases of the nervous system. In 1999, he defended his PhD thesis on the topic: "Differentiated restorative drug therapy for patients with ischemic stroke with right- and left-hemisphere localization of cerebral infarction." In 1999-2002, he completed and defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences on the topic: "Rehabilitation of patients with cerebral infarctions based on the functional analysis of sensorimotor processes and reference bioadaptation."

He has held the title of professor since 2010.

Under the supervision of prof. Yu. N. Bykov, 7 PhD and 1 doctoral dissertations were defended. He is the author of 2 patents for invention and 1 certificate of state registration of a computer program. He is the author of more than 250 scientific papers, including 7 monographs, 10 textbooks. He paid special attention to the issues of rehabilitation of patients with neurological pathology. Under his leadership, a computer program and a mobile application for patients with organic brain damage were created, based on recruiting movement recovery reserves in an individual tempo-rhythm mode. In accordance with this confirmed scientific hypothesis, 5 candidate dissertations were completed and defended (Nikolaychuk S.V., Gureva P.V., Namsaraeva O.D., Fayzulin E.R., Bender T.B.).

Over the past 5 years, scientific works of prof. Bykov Yu.N. have been published in highly rated journals in Russia and abroad. With his co-authorship, clinical recommendations at the federal level for individual nosological forms were prepared and approved. Under his editorship, a historical book was published reflecting the 100-year period of activity of the Department of Nervous Diseases.

Professor Bykov Yu.N. is a participant and speaker of scientific and scientific-practical conferences, seminars, advanced training schools at the regional, all-Russian and international levels. Prof. Yu. N. Bykov is a laureate of the grant of the President of the Russian Federation for state support of young Russian scientists in the specialty "Medicine", a laureate of the Prize of the Governor of the Irkutsk Region for Science and Technology, has a gratitude from the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation.

Prof. Yu. N. Bykov is a reviewer of the international journal Journal of Neurological Sciences
